12 things a trade website needs to make the phone ring.

Tick what your site already does. Anything unticked is a job worth doing. Site checked:

Can they find you?

1.
Your suburb and service area appear in the page text
Not just in the footer. If you serve Ellenbrook, the word Ellenbrook needs to be somewhere a reader — and Google — can see it.
2.
Every service has its own page
One page listing eight services will not rank for any of them. Eight pages might rank for eight.
3.
Your Google Business Profile is claimed and complete
Categories, service areas, hours, photos. For most trades this drives more calls than the website does.

Will they call you?

4.
Your phone number is visible without scrolling, on a phone
Tap-to-call, not a number someone has to copy out. Most trade traffic is mobile and most of it wants to call.
5.
It is obvious what you charge, or at least the range
You do not have to publish a price list. You do have to stop people leaving because they have no idea if you are $500 or $5,000.
6.
There is a way to enquire that is not the phone
A meaningful share of people will not ring a stranger. A three-field form catches them.

Do they trust you?

7.
Your licence or registration number is on the site
EC, PL, gas fitting, builder registration. It costs nothing to display and it separates you from whoever is working unlicensed.
8.
There are photos of your actual work
Not stock images. Real jobs, even phone photos, beat a polished stock library every time.
9.
Your reviews are visible, or at least linked
And reply to them. All of them, including the bad one.
10.
A real person and a real address appear somewhere
A name, a face and a suburb. Anonymous websites read as risky, especially for work done inside someone’s home.

Does it actually work?

11.
It loads in under three seconds on mobile data
Not on your office wi-fi. On 4G, in a car park, which is where a lot of people will read it.
12.
Someone other than you has filled in the form and it arrived
Test it after every change. Silently broken contact forms are the single most expensive website fault there is, and nobody notices for months.
Most of this you can fix yourself. Claim the Google Business Profile, put the phone number at the top, add your licence number, photograph three real jobs and test your own form. That alone puts you ahead of most trade websites in Perth. The two that are genuinely hard on a DIY site builder are a page per service and a page per area, done properly and linked together — that is the point where paying someone starts to make sense.
