A call, about twenty minutes
Free, no obligationWe ask what your business does, where your work comes from now, and what you want the website to change. If we are not the right fit — wrong budget, wrong type of work, or you would genuinely be better off building it yourself — we will say so on this call rather than write you a quote.
What we need from you: Nothing to prepare. Rough budget and timing helps.
A fixed-price quote
Within one business dayItemised: how many pages, what is included, and what is not. It is a fixed price, not an estimate that grows — if you later ask for something outside that scope we quote it separately and you approve it first. The quote stays valid for 30 days, so there is no pressure to decide on the spot.
What we need from you: Read it and ask questions. That is what it is for.
Deposit, and you are booked in
50% to startThe deposit books your slot in the schedule. The remaining 50% is due on completion, before the site goes live — so we are paid in full only when you have seen the finished thing. Larger platform builds get split across agreed milestones instead.
What we need from you: Pay the deposit and give us your domain and hosting details, if you have them.
Content and design
Usually 1–2 weeksWe design the pages and either write the copy or work with what you supply. You get two rounds of revisions on the design before we build anything, because changing a design is cheap and changing a built site is not. A “round” means your feedback collected and sent at once, not individual changes trickling in over three weeks.
What we need from you: Photos, logo, and answers to questions about the business. This is the stage that most often runs late, and it is almost always waiting on this material.
Build and review
Usually 1–3 weeksWe build the approved design, wire up the forms, set up the on-page SEO foundations and test it on real phones rather than a browser window resized to look like one. Then you get a private link to click through it properly, and one round of revisions on the built site.
What we need from you: Click every link. Fill in your own form. Tell us what feels wrong.
Launch, and what happens after
Final 50% before go-liveWe point the domain, set up redirects if you had an old site so you keep your rankings, submit the sitemap to Google, and check everything on the live domain. You own the design, the content and the code outright from the moment it is paid. If you are on managed hosting we handle updates, backups and monitoring from here.
What we need from you: Nothing. Go back to work.
How long does the whole thing take?
A Trade Starter site can be live in as little as two weeks. Most projects run four to six. Larger platform builds run longer and we will tell you roughly how long in the quote.
The honest version: the timeline is an estimate, not a guarantee, and the single most common cause of delay is waiting on content from the client. Not because clients are difficult — because writing about your own business while running it is genuinely hard, and it always takes longer than anyone expects. If you would rather we wrote it, say so at quote stage and we will price it in.
And if something goes wrong?
If you want to stop partway
The deposit covers work completed to that point. If the work done exceeds it we invoice the difference; if it is less, we refund the balance. Full terms are on the terms page.
If your project stalls on your side
Life happens and we are not precious about it. If it goes past 60 days we will invoice for what is done and reschedule the rest rather than leave it hanging indefinitely.
If you are not happy with the design
That is what the two revision rounds before build are for. If we are still not close after those, we would rather have an honest conversation about whether to continue than push through something you do not like.
