Questions,
answered straight.

Everything we get asked, in one place. Including the answers that are not flattering to us — where WordPress beats a custom build, and when you are better off not hiring anyone at all.

Cost, payment and contracts

The questions people ask first, and the ones most agencies make you get on a call to hear. Every price we charge is published on the pricing page.

How much does a new website cost?
We offer three clear packages: Trade Starter sites ($1k–$3k), Service Growth sites ($4k–$10k), and custom Service Plus platforms ($10k–$20k). We provide fixed-price quotes so you know exactly what you're investing upfront.

How much does a new website cost in Perth?
Trade Starter sites run $1,000-$3,000, Service Growth sites $4,000-$10,000, and Service Plus platforms $10,000-$20,000. All prices include GST and every quote is fixed-price, so the number we give you is the number you pay.

More on pricing

Why is there a price range rather than one number?
Because the work genuinely varies. Page count, whether you supply content and photos, and any integrations like bookings or CRM sync all change the build time. We quote the exact figure once we know what you need, and it does not move afterwards.

More on pricing

Do you charge by the hour?
No. Every project is fixed-price and itemised before you commit, so there are no hourly surprises. If the scope changes mid-project we quote the change separately and you approve it first.

More on pricing

What are your payment terms?
Fixed-price projects are 50% deposit to book the work in and 50% on completion, before the site goes live. Larger platform builds can be split across agreed milestones instead. On projects from $4,000 you can pay monthly over a fixed term rather than up front — no interest, no fees and no credit check. The monthly figures and the total payable are published on the pricing page.

More on the home page

Are your prices inclusive of GST?
Yes. Every price on this site includes GST — web design, local SEO, hosting and domains. The price you see is the price on your invoice.

More on pricing

Are there lock-in contracts?
Not on the ongoing services. Hosting and local SEO are month-to-month and you can cancel either any time — we would rather earn your business every month than hold you to a signature. Because SEO compounds, we suggest committing mentally to six months, but that is advice, not a contract. The one exception is a website payment plan: that is a fixed term you agree to up front, and it is set out plainly on the pricing page.

Are there lock-in contracts on SEO or hosting?
No. Both are month-to-month. We would rather earn your business every month than trap you in a contract. For SEO we do recommend committing mentally to at least six months, because that is how long compounding takes to show. A website payment plan is the exception — it is a fixed term, and we say so up front rather than in the fine print.

More on pricing

How does the payment plan work?
On projects from $4,000 you can spread the cost monthly instead of paying up front. The monthly covers the build plus Standard Care hosting for the whole term, so it is a service plan rather than a loan — there is nothing to apply for and no credit check. It is invoiced from Xero and collected by direct debit, or by card if you prefer. Every monthly figure and the total payable are on the pricing page.

More on pricing

Is there interest on a payment plan?
No. No interest, no establishment fee and no monthly fee. The monthly covers the project price plus the Standard Care hosting you would have been paying anyway, rounded up to a flat whole-dollar amount so every payment is the same. The exact total payable is published next to each monthly figure on the pricing page, so you know what the full term costs before you sign.

More on pricing

Do I own the website while I am paying it off?
You use it from the day it goes live, and you own it outright once it is paid in full — the same rule as any other project here. Pay the plan out early and ownership transfers straight away.

More on pricing

Can I cancel a payment plan?
A payment plan is a fixed term you agree to up front, so it is not month-to-month the way hosting and SEO are. If you want out early you pay out the remaining build amount and the site is yours. We will tell you that figure before you sign, not after.

How long it takes

Short answer: two weeks for a small site, four to six for most. The longer answer is that the timeline depends more on how quickly content comes back than on how fast we build.

How long does a project generally take?
Trade Starter sites can be live in as little as 2 weeks. Larger Service Growth projects typically take 4–6 weeks from kickoff to launch. We move as fast as you can provide feedback.

How long does it take to build a website?
For our Trade Starter sites, we launch in as little as 2 weeks. Larger custom projects (Service Growth) typically take 4-6 weeks from strategy to launch.

What you actually get

What is included as standard, what we write for you, and what happens if you already have a site.

Will it work on mobile phones?
100%. We design "mobile-first", meaning we ensure the site looks and works perfectly on smartphones before we even touch the desktop version. This is critical for trade businesses.

More on web design

Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes, redesigns are our speciality. We can modernise your brand, improve conversion rates, and migrate your content to a better-performing platform without losing your SEO history.

More on the home page

Do you write the content for us?
Yes! We know writing about yourself is hard. Our in-house copywriters specialise in writing persuasive text for trades and service businesses. We interview you for 30 minutes, then handle the rest.

Ownership and editing it yourself

This is where a lot of arrangements in this industry are quietly unfair, so it is worth reading even if you end up going elsewhere.

Will I be able to update the site myself?
Absolutely. We build sites on user-friendly platforms (Webflow, WordPress, or custom dashboards). We provide a recorded training session upon handover, empowering you to update text, images, and products with ease.

More on the home page

Do I own the website?
Yes, 100%. Once the final payment is cleared, you own the website, the code, and the content. We do not lock you into proprietary contracts. You are free to move your site to another host or developer at any time (though we hope you'll love staying with us!).

Do I own the website once it's finished?
Yes, absolutely. Once paid in full, you own 100% of the design, content, and code. We don't hold your business hostage with proprietary platforms.

More on web design

Can I update the text and photos myself?
Yes. We build on user-friendly platforms (like WordPress) and provide training videos so you can easily change prices, add photos, or update text without needing to pay a developer.

SEO and getting found

What is included in a build, what is a separate ongoing service, and why nobody honest will promise you a specific ranking.

Is SEO included in the build?
Every site we build includes the on-page SEO foundations: page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, schema markup, fast loading and a clean URL structure. Ongoing local SEO to compete for map pack rankings is a separate monthly service starting at $299/month.

More on pricing

How long does it take to see results?
SEO is a long-term strategy, but our "Local First" approach aims for quick wins. Typically, you'll see improved map rankings within 3-4 months, with significant traffic growth by month 6. We focus on low-hanging fruit first to get the phone ringing while we build long-term authority.

More on local seo

Do you guarantee page 1 rankings?
While no honest SEO agency can guarantee specific Google rankings (since Google changes its algorithm daily), we do offer a rock-solid performance guarantee: if we don't improve your rankings or organic traffic within the first 90 days, we will work for free until we do. We put our money where our mouth is.

More on local seo

Do I really need SEO if I'm running ads?
Yes, and here is why. Ads stop working the moment you stop paying—they are a "rented" audience. SEO builds a long-term asset that you own. Once you rank #1, you get free traffic 24/7. Most smart businesses run ads for immediate leads while building SEO for long-term dominance and lower acquisition costs.

Hosting, security and support

Where your site lives, who keeps it patched, and what happens on the day something goes wrong.

Do you offer website hosting?
Yes! We provide premium managed hosting on Australian servers. This includes NVMe storage for speed, daily backups, ImunifyAV+ security, and free SSL certificates. We handle all the technical maintenance so you can focus on your business.

More on the home page

Do I really need managed hosting?
If your website brings in leads or represents your business online, managed hosting ensures it stays secure, backed up and up to date without you having to worry about technical tasks.

More on managed hosting

What happens if my site gets hacked?
We investigate the issue, clean the site where possible, restore from backups if needed and harden your hosting environment to reduce the chance of it happening again.

More on managed hosting

Can I change plans later?
Yes. You can move between plans as your website and traffic grow. We handle all the technical changes on our side.

More on managed hosting

Is email hosting included?
We focus on reliable, high-performance website hosting. If you need email, we can recommend and help you set up dedicated email solutions that work well alongside our hosting.

More on managed hosting

Where are your servers located?
Our servers are located in Australian data centres (Sydney and Perth) to keep your site fast for local visitors and meet local data requirements.

More on managed hosting

What types of websites do you host?
We host business websites built with PHP, HTML and common platforms such as WordPress. Whether you run a simple brochure site or a more complex web application, we can manage the hosting for you.

Domains and DNS

Whose name the domain is in, how to take it with you, and what you need to qualify for a .com.au.

Who owns the domain name?
You do. We register it against your own ABN, in your business name, and list ourselves only as the technical contact so we can manage the DNS. Strictly speaking auDA licenses a .au domain rather than selling it outright, but the licence is in your name, not ours. If you ever stop working with us, the domain does not move.

More on managed hosting

Can I move my domain to another provider?
Yes, and there is nothing to negotiate. Ask us for the authorisation code and we will send it. Under the auDA rules a registrar has to action a valid transfer within two business days, and moving between registrars is free. We do not hold domains hostage.

More on managed hosting

I already have a domain. Can you use it?
Yes, and you do not need to transfer it to us. We point the nameservers at Cloudflare and your site goes live on the same domain, usually within a few hours. Keep your existing registrar and keep paying them directly if you would rather.

More on managed hosting

Am I eligible for a .com.au domain?
You need an Australian presence, which for most trade businesses means an ABN or ACN. The name also has to relate to your business, so it must match your entity name, be an acronym of it, or describe what you actually sell. We check all of this before registering anything so you are not paying for a name that gets knocked back.

AI automation and chatbots

The part of this industry with the most overselling in it, so these answers are deliberately about the limits as much as the capability. An assistant that replies in seconds is worth having; one that guesses at your prices is not.

What does an AI receptionist actually do?
It answers the questions people ask before they are ready to ring you: what areas you cover, whether you do a particular type of job, roughly what something costs, how soon you could get there. When someone is serious, it takes their details and books a time straight into your calendar. It is a first responder, not a replacement for you.

More on ai automation

Will customers know they are talking to a bot?
Yes. We label it as an assistant, and we do not give it a fake human backstory or claim it is a staff member. Pretending otherwise is the fastest way to lose the trust you built by answering quickly in the first place, and under Australian Consumer Law misleading someone about who they are dealing with is a real risk, not a stylistic choice.

More on ai automation

What happens when it cannot answer something?
It says so, takes a phone number, and tells the customer when a human will be in touch. We would rather it hand over early than guess at a price or a lead time and commit you to something you never agreed to. Every conversation is logged so you can see what was asked and what it said.

More on ai automation

Does it work with the calendar and CRM I already use?
Usually. Anything that offers a modern API or a Zapier-style connector is straightforward, and that covers most of what trade businesses run. If you are on something closed or entirely paper-based we will tell you before you spend money, because the booking step is the part that makes this worth having.

More on ai automation

How much does AI automation cost?
It is scoped per business rather than sold as a fixed package, because the work is in the questions your customers actually ask and the systems you already use. That is why there is no price on this page when every other service on this site publishes one. We will give you a fixed quote before anything starts.

More on ai automation

Can it ask customers for Google reviews?
Yes, after a job is finished. What it will not do is filter people so only the happy ones are asked, or offer anything in exchange for a review. Both breach Google policy and can cost you the reviews you already have. The request goes to everyone, and the honest ones are the ones that persuade the next customer.

More on ai automation

Do I need a new website before this is worth doing?
No. The assistant sits on whatever site you have now, and we have added it to sites we did not build. It is worth saying plainly though that if your site is not bringing anyone in, replying faster to nobody changes nothing. If that is the position you are in, local SEO is the better first spend and we will say so.
